ABOUT SCHARLE OUTDOOR RECREATION CONSULTING LLC
Spending nearly every beautiful day outdoors over the last 15 years has led me and my family to have a deep passion for sharing our experiences with others and connecting people with outdoor spaces. That's me in a nutshell. I'm Laura, your main girl behind Scharle Outdoor Rec. But I don't go at this alone. My husband Brian, and my son Patrick, together serve as a huge source of inspiration. Brian is an avid kayak fisherman and outdoorsman, and Patrick has broadened our outlook on outdoor fun, from the moment we took him on his first hike at 4 weeks old!

We call Ocean Pines, MD home, but having lived in Ocean City, Saint Michaels, Easton, Cambridge, Hurlock, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Chincoteague, VA, our outdoor experiences stretch far beyond Worcester County. And with work leading us from Wilmington, DE to Gloucester, VA, there are few outdoors spaces on the Delmarva peninsula that we haven't explored!

Our deepest passions lie on the water, between paddling the world-class waterways of the mid-Atlantic, to kayak-fishing the diverse habitats up and down the coast. When we're not on the water, we're hiking parks and state forests, and exploring the local history and heritage of the mid-Atlantic.

While we love to share outdoor spaces with others, we also recognize that natural and cultural resources are finite and sometimes fragile. We strive to strike a healthy balance between promoting outdoor recreation and teaching others to enjoy it responsibly, respectfully, and sustainably.
Through prior employment with Delaware State Parks, I have extensive knowledge and experience in interpretive planning, project management, exhibit design, marketing, and interpretive staff development, leaving me poised to create content for a variety of travel, tourism, and outdoor recreation entities.
